In collaboration with Compliance & Capacity Skills International we are undertaking an exploratory working group to recommend an international regulatory approach to sanctions violations and security threats posed by digital technologies. Our goal is to assess the technology-security paradigms and to outline policy recommendations for effective global countermeasures to the most egregious abuses against international security.
Digital technologies undoubtedly benefit humanity; however, serious risks persists along the crime-national security-warfare axis (see graphic). We are convening political decision makers and technologists to understand how we might jointly identify and contain them. The principle objective will be to develop alternatives to confronting abuses of technologies that are a threat to international peace and security, and consequentially protect and promote legitimate activities.
